Wayfinder Design, which is located in Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, offers a Design Consultancy in a range of areas: Aged Care & Dementia-specific Design, Retirement Living, Health Care, Commercial & Hospitality.

Each Client is guaranteed a personal and professional service. Wayfinder Design’s service includes design, documentation (drawings & specifications) and, project management, together with Local Council/Authorities submissions. All elements of an interior are included in the service: space planning, floor layouts, material & colours specification, custom joinery & furniture, lighting, floor & wall finishes and furnishings.

In commercial projects we also produce specifications and documentation drawings for internal building alterations and design layouts for lighting, electrical & data, fire services and air-conditioning. All work is produced on CAD (Computer Aided Drawing).

As we spend a great deal of our time in our workplaces and residences it is important that the environments in which we work and live, meet out expectations. We all want our working and living environments to work for us, not against us. Our daily activities in the workplace or the home can be a more productive and pleasant experience where care and consideration are evident in the design of the built environment. And, the practicality and serviceability (on-going maintenance) of an interior are as important considerations as are aesthetics.

Special Needs

Wayfinder Design has a particular commitment to the design of environments which meet the special needs of the frail aged and people with disabilities. The aim is to incorporate non-overt design elements which promote independence for people, regardless of their capabilities.

The issues considered include mobility, balance, dexterity, hearing & visual ability and cognition. Important elements, amongst others, in the design of these environments are colour and tonal contracts, non-intrusive/low glare lighting, eliminating trip & slip hazards and, minimising harm by paying due attention to corners & edges in the physical environment.

Professional Development

Wayfinder Design engages in on-going research and professional development to ensure that the service provided to Clients is of the highest standard. The examples of work presented on this Web Site demonstrate Wayfinder Design’s continuing commitment to quality in design.
